Company philosophy
“Embroidery – including the specialisation in embroidered guipure lace – is by far the most elaborate and at the same time the highest quality textile process. With its unrivalled quality in terms of material, fineness, expression/aesthetics and workmanship, fashion lace must therefore justify comparatively high prices for discerning target groups. At the same time, we attach great importance to sustainability and, in addition to the already established segment with organic qualities, we will gradually convert the entire range in order to be able to virtually eliminate the use of petroleum-based fibres in the medium term – with the exception of technical applications.”
REALLY AWESOME!
In 1897, Max Bruno Meyer had silk dressing gowns embroidered for the Indian market and sent them from Zwickau to India via England. The first generation of the entrepreneurial family, today the owners of Modespitze Plauen, was successful! The same applies to Plauener Spitze® itself, thanks to whose worldwide demand the town also developed rapidly. Over 120 years later, lace from traditional to modern is still the speciality of the fourth generation of entrepreneurs. In the range: favourite pieces for the home or yard goods for implementing your own ideas, as well as lace fashion, lace jewellery and a small but fine Bauhaus collection.
